Assessing and developing R&D leadership talent for tomorrow’s business demands and global challenges requires unique skill. The SFB Science and Technology Leader of the Future Assessment provides 32 concise descriptors of essential behaviors. The descriptors are linked to eight critical competencies based upon client interviews over the past several years as well as data gleaned from our “Under the Radar” workshops. Variables for scope of responsibility and span of control do not diminish the essential value of these behaviors for technical professionals who are not on a “management track”.
